Medically supervised weight management, including GLP-1 therapy (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) initiation and follow-up, by video or phone with Dr Syed Kazmi, Consultant Endocrinologist — available to adults anywhere in Ireland, most weekday evenings.
What Can Be Reviewed Remotely
Who You'll See
Dr Syed Kashif Hussain Kazmi — MRCPI, FRCP Glasgow, CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology, IMC 213626, GMC 6117450 — conducts online obesity consultations personally, with access to the established physical clinic in Naas whenever face-to-face assessment is clinically required.
A clinic letter is sent to your GP after your consultation, the same as after an in-person visit, and both self-referral and GP referral are accepted.
How It Works
Call 089 656 7597 or email the clinic. Self-referral and GP referral both accepted.
Send your weight history, current medication, relevant bloods (HbA1c, lipids, liver, thyroid) and blood pressure readings.
By video or phone, weekday evenings. Dr Kazmi assesses causes and comorbidities, discusses options, and — where appropriate — plans GLP-1 based therapy and its titration.
A letter goes to your GP; bloods and blood-pressure checks are arranged locally, and follow-up reviews track response and side effects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Comprehensive metabolic health assessment, GLP-1 therapy (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) initiation discussion and follow-up, and cardiometabolic risk review are well suited to video or phone consultation with Dr Kazmi.
Yes. Ongoing GLP-1 therapy follow-up — including dose titration discussion, side-effect review and progress monitoring — is well suited to video or phone consultation, at your consultant's clinical discretion.
Baseline measurements and ongoing monitoring are part of safe obesity medicine practice. Your consultant will advise what is needed and how this can be arranged — some information can be self-reported for an online consultation, while an in-person visit may be advised depending on your situation.
New patient assessments are seen online where a physical examination is not immediately required. Dr Kazmi will advise if an in-person visit to the Naas clinic is needed at any point.
An initial discussion can take place online, but pre-bariatric evaluation typically involves multidisciplinary assessment and may require in-person components depending on the surgical pathway and hospital requirements.
Yes, where it is clinically appropriate after a full assessment. GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro) are prescription medicines that require review of your medical history, current medication, relevant bloods and any contraindications before starting, plus a plan for dose escalation and monitoring. Dr Kazmi covers all of this in the consultation and communicates the plan to your GP. They are not appropriate for everyone, and they are not prescribed without a proper review — they should never be sourced from unregulated online sellers.
Monitoring typically includes periodic review of weight and waist, blood pressure, and blood tests appropriate to your health profile and medication, along with a check on tolerance and side effects. Almost all of this can be arranged locally to you — home blood-pressure readings and blood tests through your GP or a local service — and reviewed with Dr Kazmi at follow-up video consultations. The interval between reviews is set to match the titration schedule and how you are responding.
Dr Kazmi identifies exactly which tests are needed for your weight condition and provides a request. In most cases these are done locally to you — through your GP practice, a hospital phlebotomy service, or a private lab — and the results are sent to the clinic and reviewed with you at a short follow-up by video, phone or in person. Where a test genuinely has to be done at a specific facility, that is explained before you proceed. You do not need to travel to Naas simply to have blood drawn.
Yes, where it is clinically appropriate. After the consultation Dr Kazmi sends a detailed letter to your GP setting out the diagnosis, the plan and any recommended change to semaglutide (Wegovy) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro) or other medication, so your GP can issue or adjust the prescription as part of shared care. Where a private prescription is more appropriate, the arrangements are discussed with you directly. Some changes are deliberately held until a blood test or an in-person review is done first.
Follow-up intervals are individual to your condition, how stable it is, and Dr Kazmi's clinical judgement — they are not fixed for every patient. Many people with weight condition settle into a pattern of one or two reviews a year once treatment is established, with extra reviews around any medication change or new symptom. A clinic letter goes to your GP after every consultation so your primary care team stays informed throughout.
Both. New-patient assessments are carried out online where a physical examination is not immediately required — Dr Kazmi takes a full history, reviews any results and referral information, and sets out an initial plan. If the assessment shows that a hands-on examination or an on-site test is needed to be safe and complete, an in-person appointment in Naas is arranged, usually as the next step after the video consultation rather than instead of it.
